What is singletrack?
Singletrack is a mountain bike term for trail riding – a narrower
path with possible obstacles to ride over. All our MTB Tours that
offer singletrack riding occur in the national forests, mountains,
and tea plantations.
Explain the approximate tour time?
The approximate time is the total tour time which includes the transportation
time to and from the trailhead, this is based on total time from
lodge back to lodge. Whereas the bike riding time is in general
1 to 3 hours less than total time.
What is the average group size?
The average group size is 2 to 10 riders. We strive to keep a ratio
of 5 guests to 1 guide on our guided mountain bike tours.
What kind of mountain bikes do
you use?
Our mountain bikes have a Front Shock and Grip Shift, we use bikes
from the following companies: Canondale, Giant and Schwinn. We will
be adding some Kona full suspension bikes soon. Check out our Gear
Page for details on our Mountain Bikes.
What kind of pedals are on your
bikes?
Most of our bikes have flat pedals, but we can offer SPD compatible
pedals depending on the availability. Please let us know if you
will be using SPD mt bike shoes ie needing SPD pedals. You are more
than welcome to bring your own bike, pedals, shoes and other gear
you are most comfortable with.
What kind of food is served on
bike tours?
We offer a snack, juice & cookies on our half day tours (5 or
less hours) and a box lunch on our full day tours. Please feel free
to bring snacks on all tours especially on Family Bike Tours. Every
guest gets his or her own water bottle to use on the tour.
What clothing should we wear on
a bike tour?
We suggest wearing comfortable summer mtn biking clothing and sneakers
(please don’t wear sandals) plus an extra wind/rain shell.
Most of the time we are riding at 3000 ft or above, so the weather
can change without much notice any time of the year.
What should we bring on a bike
tour?
We will supply the mountain bike, helmet, gloves, food and a water
bottle. We suggest bringing a camera, sunglasses, sunscreen (+15
or higher), extra water and snacks.
What kind of wildlife will we see?
Every tour is different, but most tours provide an opportunity to
see wildlife in their natural setting. Our guests regularly see
buffalo, elephants, deer, eagles and various birds of prey. Celebrity
appearances include sightings of leopard and even bears. |
